Dan was the kind of realtor that we really needed. We were under a tight timeline to make a decision to rent or buy (only a week) - flying in from Connecticut to Reno with no idea of where to start looking. I am a real estate broker in Oregon which affords me a unique lens to evaluate and interview a real estate broker to be of service to me when buying/selling in another state, outside of my area of expertise and licensure. Prior to connecting with Dan Berg I had created a list of a few local brokers that I had planned to interview and also solicited referrals from my local Realtor colleagues. I was specifically looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years experience, full engagement in the business, a reasonable sales/performance history and someone who worked for a locally owned brokerage rather than a franchise. I ultimately called Dan Berg because he was the listing broker on a property I was interested in and subsequent to our initial telephone conversation I knew that in the event nothing worked out with his listing he would be my Realtor in Reno. I liked the ability to look up the MLS at my leisure without being pressured. I learned that you have to be ready to buy house quickly in this market and Dan's guidance helped us get there quickly. Dan responded quickly to my phone messages, emails and text messages. Dan went out of his way to look at properties, drill down for more information and acted quickly with our offer. I felt confident that we would eventually find something. We called/emailed two other brokers about the same time or slightly earlier but they never replied back to me. Dan was friendly, courteous and to the point which I appreciate because we both have busy schedules and different work hours. It was always easy to communicate with Dan via the phone, email, video and text message; he is a great salesman. My wife and I were NOT looking forward to start the process of buying a home in another city again and we were not happy living in Henderson, NV. We fell in love with Carson City, NV and Dan was doing a good job replying back to us with information before we considered him as our agent. The experience got better and better during the the time learning the real estate market in Carson City, progressing through the pre qualifying phase and the quick closing process. At the very end and looking back it was an excellent experience.

Both the broker/agent and I knew of the high unlikelihood of the sale of this property. Working with historical data provided by the agent/broker, establishing base-line acceptable, realistic, below historical market pricing for me as owner. The agent/broker then set a 'salable' listing price that included some, but minimum offer negotiating. The listing made correct and good use of my over 10 years old prior listing file at this brokerage office which included excellent color photos and location marking. All of these features were organized and assembled by the agent/broker into a listing which was acceptable to a buyer - resulting in a near to 'improbable' sale within a few days of listing.A possible factor in this sale may well have been Dan's openness (and minimum prior rejections) attempting to sell what would be described by most as 'unsaleable open acreage' as well as his significant competence to do so. (Though admittedly it certainly helps to have a willing, prepared buyer at just the right time.)

Dan Berg did well. This was a very quick and straight forward sale and he was directly involved in offers and counteroffers providing direction and suggestions in our interest. I greatly appreciate Dan's continued help with this property which has continued even after the close of escrow.A major water line break occured in the well feed line to the house just days after the close of escrow and while we were not in town. Dan coordinated contacts and communication to address this leak. He followed up at night time after normal work hours and coordinated contacts in order to address the leak and stop the rushing water which was going down to the street. Dan's involvment was greatly appreciated and avoided further problems.
