I began my Real Estate Career in 1988.
I represent Sellers, Buyers, Lessors, and Lessees with fiduciary care and versatile professionalism.
I was born and grew up in Chicagoland, Illinois.
At 21 years of age, in September of 1975, I moved west to escape the wretched winter weather and pesky insects of summer. I was attracted to Reno for its small-town charm, history, dry climate, big blue sky, the beautiful diversity of the high desert meeting the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevadas, the proximity to Lakes Tahoe and Pyramid and ready access to myriad mountainside activities and world-class ski resorts. What a paradise compared to the Midwest!
I have a 44 year historical perspective of Reno/Sparks and the surrounding areas, with a corresponding network of friends, professionals and business associates.
From 1972-74, I worked for a Custom Home Builder in the Chicago area. I learned to frame and finish carpentry along with plumbing and electrician skills; I have a very good understanding of residential home design and construction.
Soon after arriving in Reno I owned and operated Retail Audio stores, Circle Stereo and Q Audio, for eight years.
I then worked in the Industrial Real Estate field for eight years. In 1990, I met and became friends with our Broker, Darrell Plummer, when he was Director of Economic Development for Sierra Pacific Power Company which is now NV Energy. During those years, I represented and negotiated, on behalf of Buyers, Sellers, Lessors, Lessees, and Sub-Lessors in excess of 1.3 million square feet valued at approximately $14.3 million. I have a very good understanding of concrete tilt-up, poured-in-place and block built industrial building design and construction.
By 1994, I had developed the first Real Estate website in Nevada, which the Federal Government featured in the 1995 G7 summit as an example of Internet use and what was to come.
In 1996, I decided to take a break from Industrial Real Estate; for the following seventeen years, I led the Global Sales, Marketing, Product and Brand Development for the Reno-based, In-Wall loudspeaker manufacturer, OEM Systems Company, Inc.
I have been in sales, sales management, and marketing for 45 years. My fiduciary-first approach, practical perspective, prompt follow-up, comprehensive follow-through, excellent listening and negotiating skills all contribute to quality transactions and satisfied clients.
Upon re-entering the Real Estate profession I chose to work with Sierra Nevada Properties because of our Broker, Darrell Plummer. Ask around, you can’t beat Darrell’s deep roots.
